Our work in Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone is the last African country where Doctors with Africa Cuamm arrived, in 2012. From 2014 the population have faced the Ebola epidemic: CUAMM decided to stay on the field, helping local doctors and nurses in the Pujehun district.

Doctors with Africa CUAMM has been working in Sierra Leone since February 2012. Here, from May 2014, the organization has been facing the biggest Ebola epidemic ever seen.

Today extensive energy and resources have been invested to control the Ebola epidemic in Pujehun district. Taking into account the outbreak of Ebola, CUAMM is endeavouring to provide continuity to mother and child healthcare activities, particularly at Pujehun district hospital.

Where we work
- Pujehun district, where CUAMM staff, collaborating with the district authorities, activated two isolation centres, enabling the control of virus transmission through isolation of suspected or probable cases.
- Port Loko district: Doctors with Africa CUAMM contributed to containing the Ebola outbreak and reinstating health services, in particular obstetric, neonatal and child services in Port Loko, the district worst affected by Ebola.
