REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree in Medicine and Surgery, Nursing or equivalent title
  • Specialty, Master or equivalent title in Public Health
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken Portuguese
  • Previous experience in managing health projects in fragile/low-income countries
  • Previous experience in the African context will be considered an asset
  • Adaptability to live and work in a rural area

KEY DUTIES
As Project Manager, the PH Expert is responsible for the coordination and implementation of a project focused on maternal and child nutrition in 3 municipalities of Cunene and Namibe Provinces.
The specific tasks are:

  • maintain relationships with local health authorities and project partners
  • ensure proper management and implementation of the project
  • ensure adequate management of project resources (human, financial and material resources)
  • supervise the organization and implementation of public health outreaches with malnutrition screening and antenatal visits
  • coordinate the supervision of the health centers and their supply of drugs and equipment
  • collaborate in the organization of food awareness activities (eg. cooking demonstrations) and supervise the distribution of food kits
  • ensure the constant availability of project data and the preparation of periodic reports requested by donors
