Doctors with Africa CUAMM and World Diabetes Foundation on the field in Mozambique to assist the population affected by or at risk of Diabetes and Hypertension.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, TB programmes rarely include NCD screening, but a project in Angola is proving it can be done with great success.
Doctors with Africa Cuamm took part in the Congress of the Angolan Society of Diabetology. Attending were Doctors Eric Lonla, Joseph Nsuka and Sonia Ezaquiela, who are working on a project to improve diabetes and hypertension diagnoses in tuberculosis patients (TB).
Eighty percent of deaths from diabetes take place in mid- to lower-income countries. These include Angola and Mozambique, where Doctors with Africa CUAMM is working hard to meet emerging health care needs.
CUAMM and WDF have joined forces to improve diabetes treatment in Angola. A meeting in Padua to discuss activities and results.
