GLOBAL HEALTH, HEALTH FOR ALL!
Health is a fundamental and universally recognised human right. Notwithstanding this, and even though at the global level there has been an overall improvement in people’s state of health, inequalities in health are growing not only between nations but also within nations themselves, especially in developing countries. Given today’s available knowledge and resources, it is clear that such inequalities are socially determined, avoidable and unnecessary, therefore unacceptable, not only economically and politically, but also at the ethical and moral level. Only through a common and shared commitment and collective action will it be possible to confront this indifference.

HEALTH WORKERS AS GLOBAL HEALTH ADVOCATES. INVESTING IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
In today's globalised world, healthcare workers are called to embrace a global approach to health and have a clear understanding of social, cultural and environmental factors affecting health. Given the various social and professional roles they play and the variety of contexts they work in, health professionals can perform an important function as information spreaders and opinion makers. In other words, they can act as pressure group for promoting a global approach to health and, by elaborating more equal health policies, become de facto activists in promoting the right to health for all. To promote an active role by the health community, a cultural change is needed as well as investments in education and training.
